It was great to hear you so passionately expressing support for inclusion at the National Diversity Awards launch event.
Thanks for your words of wisdom and inspiration at the D&I event hosted by Bloomberg. I'll reach out to you on, not only D&I of women of colour into senior leadership positions, but also strategy for driving natural capital accounting into organisation.
Your panel involvement and comments were executed excellently and I just wanted to say how much I admire this and your success under challenging circumstances you mentioned openly at the event. I wish you well and thank you again for being an inspiration.
You were exceptionally inspiring and I personally believe the only one who brought up financial disparity, specifically gender inequalities to then talk about financial inclusion. Which I believe was the first key in unlocking financial literacy & inclusion.
I just wanted to drop you a personal message to just re-iterate how wonderful it was to have you on panel. I’ve had a huge amount of compliments and positive feedback and a large part of that was specifically to you so I just wanted to share this with you. A whole group of women at Calastone have now specifically said they are inspired to aim higher, be brave and think about leadership roles more, which is fantastic! Thank you so much for joining and for providing such valuable insight and helping to encourage everyone to do more and take a stand on this. I know this can be thankless work sometimes, but all the work that you have done and I’m sure will continue to do in this space is inspirational and I’m much more confident knowing there are women like you in the space to be inspired by.
I wanted to say a massive thank you for your powerful speech at the HSBC global lunch and learn event

The single factor that makes her stand out from the crowd is her true sense of empathy. For that reason, she is a true role model for all of us.

It’s rare that you come across standout talent like Bijna. Few people have the opportunity to report to a manager who is also a coach and mentor—but I did while working for Bijna. I was always in awe of Bijna’s ability to command a room and get people on board with ideas—even people who were initially on completely different pages. I was particularly impressed by Bijna’s ability to think outside the box and truly innovate effortlessly. That skill often takes years to develop, but it seemed to come perfectly naturally to her. Oh, and she knew the way to her teams heart, making sure that every member was praised for a good job and regular cakes, coffees and team lunches. Talk about motivating a team! As a team member or a leader, Bijna earns my highest recommendation. Any employee would be lucky to have her.
In my 40 years in the banking industry I have never worked for a more innovative, inclusive and forward thinking manager. I was always encouraged to test parameters and think outside the box. Bijna is also a master strategist and has an almost infinite knowledge of her working environment. She has unlimited energy and whilst 100% focussed still makes time for her team. I will truly miss working for her.

Bijna has mentored me since about the time I started my own early 2014. The monthly meetings we have are real fixtures in my calendar - of the best possible kind! We have worked on the large and small of running a business: Strategic overview, assets analysis, rebranding, risk management, outcome assurance as well as tangible pitches and creative streams of fundraising. All in all, Bijna is open-minded, enthusiastic, ambitious, strategic and very focused and I always walk away from our passionate discussions with a sharpend focus and a straightend spine.
